An indie, low budget, Art House Horror-Comedy. Yep. Worth the watch? Sure. I just wasn’t a fan of the random stylistic jumps. It seemed like Folger was experimenting with direction and photographic styles, in this, his directorial debut, and mashed them all together in one film. Neat, but all over the freaking place. The story rather suffered for this, as in some places the story was over explained, and in others it was overly metaphorical. On the plus side, the cast is very talented, and there is all sorts of great kill scenes with plenty of good effects.

Mine surveyors are hired to assess an abandoned silver mine in Silver City to determine if it is worth reopening.  Some of them rent a nearby cabin for the duration of the project.   In the process of exploring the mine, the surveyors release something that had been trapped inside for 100 years which are free to hunt using the tunnels and caverns running underground, including under their cabin. Sam, who was adopted when she was 5-years-old, has inherited a house from a family she has never known.  She and 3 friends decide to take a vacation and check out the house, giving Sam a chanced to try to figure out what happened to her biological parents and why she was put up for adoption.  When they arrive, Sam begins to have flashbacks of long repressed memories.  As the group’s friendships begin to fall apart, so does Sam’s sanity.
