Ella was a young girl when she witnessed a traumatic event which continues to haunt her.  Kay is the psychologist who has been trying to help her.  As Kay is ready to recommend that Ella stay hospitalized for continued observation, Ella keeps telling Kay that she is not understanding what Ella is telling her.  When Kay starts to really listen, she realizes that what is haunting Ella may not only be in her mind.
