This story picks up shortly after the events of The Phantom of the Opera. Our protagonist, Erik, in a fit of sorrow and loneliness, is intent on death. However, a mysterious fellow, who also happens to live beneath the Paris Opera House, is hired by it’s owners to dispatch the Opera Ghost once and for all. A bloody, beaten, and nearly dead Erik is dumped in a wagon bound for a village far from Paris where a kindly priest discovers him and takes him to the local judge’s home.
