Trevor wakes in a sanitarium with no memory of what happened to him or why he’s there. With the assistance of Dr. Ek (Jeffrey Combs), he tries to piece his memory back together.

This is an overly convoluted story. Seriously, it’s more twisty than a silly straw. There is some reference to The Old Ones, but nothing else, so more than likely just a nod to Lovecraft’s works.

Jeffrey Combs (Dr. Ek) and Ted Raimi (Dr. Coffee) are always worth watching. Seth Green (Douglas) has a few really great moments, but mostly his performance in this isn’t up to his usual caliber. Wendy Robie (Dr. Thalama) is a terrific delight, emphasis on the terror. Yay for the cameo by Alice Cooper, always a pleasure. Andras Jones, as the main character, Trevor Blackburn, gives an okay performance. His 2 romantic interests are starkly different. Beth Bates (Faith) was super sensual creepy and Shannon Hart Cleary was rather bland and wooden.

The set design wasn’t great. The paint job on the House of Love caused me stress just watching the movie. They thought it was appropriate for people with mental illness? Nope.

Based on other reviews, this wasn’t a very well received Film. I can see why. But I also really want to watch it again to see if I can follow better knowing what’s coming.
