Dr. Edward Pretorius and his assistant, Crawford Tillinghast have made The Resonator, a machine that allows people in its range to see beyond the normal precepts of reality. But the beings from beyond have affected Pretorius and Tillinghast must stop him.
So I chose to revisit this after seeing The Old Ones at the Sawdust City Fright Fest this year. I wanted to refresh my memory of the Crawford Tillinghast story and, of course, it was so worth it. Even with the dated special effects, this film still works really well. Largely due to the magic made when Stuart Gordon, Brian Yuzna, Jeffrey Combs, and Barbara Crampton collaborate, especially on Lovecraft inspired stories. I think I’ll watch more.
