Jane Austin’s classic story of love and relationships between different classes … with a twist.

This is the only way I’m interested in the story. They did right by the zombie effects, plenty of violence and gore. The cast is lovely and they seem to fully understand and embrace what they’re making. To be perfectly fair, Jane Austin does have a lovely satirical mind, but this “modernization” (and the addition of zombies is most certainly a modernization) makes Austin’s dry satire nice and juicy.

As previously mentioned, the cast is absolutely lovely. Lily James, Matt Smith, Charles Dance, Lena Headey are just a few of the cast who took what could have been just another schlocky zombie flick and gave it some real clout. The performances felt quite natural. They weren’t Mel Brooks cheesy, nudge-nudge-wink-wink, nor were they stiff necked, straight laced, overly serious drama.

This is a great addition to my favorite genre, the zombie genre.
