Mine surveyors are hired to assess an abandoned silver mine in Silver City to determine if it is worth reopening.  Some of them rent a nearby cabin for the duration of the project.   In the process of exploring the mine, the surveyors release something that had been trapped inside for 100 years which are free to hunt using the tunnels and caverns running underground, including under their cabin. Sam, who was adopted when she was 5-years-old, has inherited a house from a family she has never known.  She and 3 friends decide to take a vacation and check out the house, giving Sam a chanced to try to figure out what happened to her biological parents and why she was put up for adoption.  When they arrive, Sam begins to have flashbacks of long repressed memories.  As the group’s friendships begin to fall apart, so does Sam’s sanity. This is the story of Mia, who is a drug addict looking to kick the habit, so her two friends, her brother, David, and his girlfriend all meet at her family’s cabin to help her through detox.  They discover the cabin has been broken into and find dead animals hanging from the cellar rafters.  Evidence of some sort of witchcraft, including a mysterious book covered in plastic and barbed wire.  When one of the curious friends opens and reads from the book, it unleashes a soul collecting demon.
