Dr. James Xavier is experimenting with improving his vision. He develops a serum in the form of eye drops, which gives him x-ray vision, and the effect is cumulative. However, having these abilities have unforeseen consequences.

Directed by the estimable Roger Corman, this classic, mad-scientist, horror-flick examines how the power to see, being the ultimate voyeur, and the knowledge that comes from it is not always a good thing. There is, after all, a reason they’re called “mad” scientists. They either tend to become megalomaniacs or fall in with those who exploit them, as Dr. Xavier (Ray Milland) is exploited by Crane (Don Rickles), then, in some way, self destruct.

Corman flicks are always worth watching. This particular movie falls higher on the list of “must-see” from him.
