At Mushnik’s flower shop in Skid Row, Seymour Krelborn is trying to live his dream of growing things.  He starts a seed, grows a rare plant, which he names Audrey Junior, after his love interest, his co-worker, Audrey Fulquard.  Such an exciting, exotic new plant brings a rush of interest, fame, and business to the flower shop, but to keep Audrey Junior healthy, Seymour is forced to take awful, sinister actions.

Sadly, I’d never seen this before.   Roger Corman and Charles B. Griffith give the audience a truly memorable, well-written and well-executed movie which inspired a brilliant musical remake.

What an amazingly creative sci-fi horror.  An outstanding cast brings to life rich, well-developed characters.  The creature is inventive, beautiful, and creepy.

If you’ve not seen this original version, it is a must.  If you’ve not seen the remake with Rick Moranis, it is a must.
