After getting into a car accident trying to avoid a funeral procession, Alicia and Joss become stranded in a mysterious little town in Mexico, on their way to Alicia’s parent’s home, on Dia de los Muertos, The Day of the Dead.   They become swept up in the village’s haunted history.

This began so promising, with Jeffrey Combs, David Keith, and Danny Trejo.   Unfortunately, neither the writing nor the main cast really carry the story (such as it is) all that well.    I really want to focus on the positive here because it’s too easy to get wrapped up in the movie’s flaws.   The most notable positive is that the writers really made an attempt at having a strong, intelligent female lead… actually heroine, (Marissa Ramirez) as she is who ultimately figured out what was going on and thereby defeated the villain of the piece.

Overall, it’s not a particularly memorable movie.  It’s possible I’ll revisit it in the future to give it another chance, or if I forget that I’ve seen it.
