Roger Mortis and Doug Bigelow are a pair of detectives trying to solve a string of peculiarly violent crimes.

This is simply fantastic!  A solid mystery, full of crooked cops, zombies, and even mad scientists.  A beautiful example of 80’s extravagance from director Mark Goldblatt, starring Treat Williams and Joe Piscopo, and with Robert Picardo, Darren McGavin, Vincent Price, and Mel Stewart.   This is  a visual spectacle of  monster effects, practical effects, a splash of “special” effects, and makeup.  Although parts of this film are dated, overall the movie holds up very well.

A fun twist on the “buddy cop” films that were so popular in the 80s, this is a cheesy gore-fest, certain to please those who love outlandish horror comedies.

Random observation/question… was this film the first use of the term “zombieland”?  There were so many pop culture references that I almost let this one slide by.
