Adam is driving cross country to the wedding of a girl he’s had a crush on for 10 years.  He finds out that his estranged friend, Harley, has hitched a ride hoping that they can repair their friendship, since the girl was the reason for their falling out.  Eventually they pick up Sarah, a sexy hitchhiker.  They find themselves being pursued by a monster truck and stumbling across strange situations and stranger people.

This flick is better than it has a right to be.  Cheesy, annoying, stereotypical characters still manage to be endearing.   The music and practical effects are effective.  Though chucks of the dialogue is filled with one-liners, it seems to have been intentional, as most of it happens during conversation between Harley and Adam, or when Harley is trying to talk about something he doesn’t understand and uses an inappropriate reference.

I gave this 3 1/2 fru fru drinks.
