“Pity”

Pity is a glimpse into the life and mind of a man who has been separated from someone he loves and cannot resolve the loss. Unable to deal with it, he has sunk to depths where he hardly recognizes the man he once was. As he struggles, he is discovering just how far a mind can go before completely being lost.
This in an intense piece featuring an actor who carries the weight of the character extremely well, stunning cinematography and an extremely effective music. Though the film is only 7 minutes it successfully evokes a strong emotional reaction from the viewer ranging from sympathy, pity and disgust to horror.
Be sure to check out the website for a screening in your area (and hopefully a dvd release) because this short is worth seeing.
