Frank Mason (John Hackett), a guilt-ridden sole survivor of a unit wiped out on Corregidor, and island off the coast of Philippines, during WW2 returns to the island 20 years later to face his past.
Oh the suspense! The haunting music, great use of lighting, the actor, John Hackett, was quite convincing as a man returning to where his 17-year-old self had run away from an horrific war experience. The whole cast was outstanding, actually. The ghostly presence is quite subtle, but consistent throughout and easily mistaken for the character’s PTSD.
Aside from a few scenes having a bit too much exposition, this is a solid film. Coming in at 75 minutes, the pacing was great, no wasted scenes or screen time. If you like your war films with a splash of the paranormal, this is for you.
