A town is overrun by genetically engineered mutant wasps.\u00a0 It’s up to a small town exterminator, an entomologist, a Deputy Sheriff and the man who engineered them to stop them.<\/p>\n

This poorly written made-for-tv movie is full of some of the worst thought out characters I’ve seen in a long time.\u00a0\u00a0 Within the first 5 minutes the new Deputy Sheriff misses her daughter talking to and taking food from a stranger then sends her daughter off to an erratically driving ice cream truck and doesn’t notice the creepy behavior of the driver. \u00a0 The people who get stung my the modified wasps turn into “drones,”\u00a0 who behave zombie like and incubate the wasps eggs.\u00a0 But, hey, Robert Englund plays the part of the “bee keeper” who befriends said daughter and he is always worth watching.<\/p>\n

The make up was pretty good and though the movie relied heavily on CGI, there were a few practical effects.\u00a0 Of note is the “effect”\u00a0 the filmmakers used to create the cracks in a van’s windshield by applying a window decal of a crack.<\/p>\n

Overall, I managed to get some enjoyment out of this film, but I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you’re having a drink (or 6) and looking for a movie to rip apart.<\/p>\n

I gave this 1 mixed drink.
