Grant Mazzy is a radio DJ new to middle of no-where town, Pontypool, Ontario, Canada.\u00a0 One snowy night, he, along with his co-workers, Sydney and Laural-Ann, find themselves trapped in their church basement radio station as a strange virus begins turning the inhabitants of Pontypool into what appear to be zombies.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

This is a thrilling, thought provoking story, in the vein of\u00a0 Orson Wells “War of the Worlds.”\u00a0 What is real when you can’t see what is happening?\u00a0 When words have unforeseen effects.<\/p>\n

The cast does a great job.\u00a0 This is one of those movies that rely almost completely on dialogue and\u00a0 the strength of a handful of actors to make the story believable, and boy does it succeed.\u00a0 Of course, Stephen McHattie is brilliant, it helps that he has a wonderful “radio voice.”\u00a0 Lisa Houle gives an emotional performance as the over tasked radio producer, Sydney Briar.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Georgina Reilly holds her own as Laurel Ann Drummond.<\/p>\n
