Two crime scene cleaners, Leo and Elvis, discover a hidden basement during a routine job.\u00a0 Full of unusual equipment and recording of the man who lived there, they also find a lovely young woman hiding.\u00a0 While waiting for assistance to arrive, they attempt to discover who she is… and what.<\/p>\n

This indie Norwegian flick is based on the\u00a0 Huldra,\u00a0\u00a0a seductive forest creature found in Scandinavian folklore.\u00a0 Although it claims to be a Fantasy\/Horror, it is definitely more of a Fantasy than a Horror.<\/p>\n

A haunting story (even though there were plot holes) with talented actors, especially\u00a0 Silje Rein\u00e5mo, who plays the non-speaking title character.\u00a0 Most of the information the audience learns is from the voice recordings found in the basement with Thale, which the characters continuously play.<\/p>\n

Since the version I saw was dubbed into English, I’m going to presume that any dialogue issues were simply due to being lost in translation.<\/p>\n

I didn’t think the CGI was that bad, I’ve seen worse in movies with a large budget.\u00a0 There is, initially, a lot of gore, as the characters are being introduced, but not much after.\u00a0 There is quite a bit of violence throughout the movie, much of it implied.<\/p>\n

I gave this film 3 glasses of wine.\u00a0 I found it enjoyable and engaging.
