A scientist and his assistant experimenting on brain activity are called to help someone injured in a plane crash.\u00a0 When the district doctor declares the\u00a0 man dead, the scientist discovers that the man’s brain is alive even though his body is dead and they act swiftly to preserve the brain.\u00a0 Then they discover that the man is millionaire W.H. Donovan.\u00a0 As the experiment progresses, Donovan’s brain begins to take control over the assistant.<\/p>\n

The first of the film adaptations of Curt Siodmak’s\u00a0 “Donovan’s Brain.”\u00a0\u00a0 It was slow moving and the acting, specifically Vera Ralston, was a bit stiff.\u00a0 Eric von Stroheim, of course, commands every scene he is in with his charismatic presence.<\/p>\n
