Sam, who was adopted when she was 5-years-old, has inherited a house from a family she has never known.\u00a0 She and 3 friends decide to take a vacation and check out the house, giving Sam a chanced to try to figure out what happened to her biological parents and why she was put up for adoption.\u00a0 When they arrive, Sam begins to have flashbacks of long repressed memories.\u00a0 As the group’s friendships begin to fall apart, so does Sam’s sanity.<\/p>\n

I enjoyed the fact that the filmmakers chose to use Sam’s friends as the visual representations of her biological family in her memory flashbacks, thereby adding to her confusion and disorientation.\u00a0 I liked that it kept me wondering for longer than I expected whether or not this was a story with a paranormal.\u00a0 The characters, Sam and Eric, were intriguing, I enjoyed the dynamic between them.\u00a0\u00a0 The other characters didn’t do that much for me, though the actors did a great job of portraying the different roles of friend\/memory.<\/p>\n

Overall, this thriller\/horror is worth checking out, according to their website, The Invoking has been picked up for worldwide distribution.\u00a0 So watch for it.<\/p>\n
