A group of girls join the rush for Gamma Rho Kappa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I chose this one because Lynn Lowry is one of the protagonists. Even though it doesn’t strictly stick to my “of the Dead”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The movie begins by introducing 6 rather stereotypical pledge “babes” arriving at the sorority house for rush. After establishing these stereotypes, they make a solid attempt to deconstruct those stereotypes and develop the characters and their relationships to give them some depth. Some of the characters are actually given fairly compelling stories. I was quite pleased with the subplot about the investigative journalist. I’m not trying to say that they succeeded in creating the next great dramatic horror film, but the you do get a chance to care about the characters before the sinister house mother entities have their way with them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I particularly enjoyed the cheerfully maniacal, rather sinister, and scene stealing performance from Mia Katz as the apparent Sorority President, Roxie. Lynn Lowry also looked like she was having fun in her role as one of the cannibalistic, house mother entities. She always dies so damned well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can ignore the age of the cast and enjoy the movie for what it is, it’s actually enjoyable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
