This horror-noir film follows Jack Marlin, a private detective\/club owner in Purgatory, as he tries to help a young pop star, Viv Vacious, find her mother, who had committed suicide 20-years earlier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

I saw this as part of the Sawdust City Fright Fest<\/a>. The worldbuilding was well done. I liked the idea of purgatory as a post-apocalyptic wasteland with pockets of semi-civilization to be very fitting. Tim Rozon, as Jack, and Alexandra Beaton, as Viv, gave fantastic performances and had great chemistry. There weren’t really any bad performances in this, actually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a really good film that definitely can be watched over and over. The Butler Brothers, Brett and Jason have some real talent and vision in their art and I look forward to seeing what they have in store next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With great production value and a creative and fresh, story, my only real complaint is the CGI blood splatters. Which, if you’ve read enough of my entries here, you know is a pet peeve of mine, but even that didn’t distract from the overall enjoyment of the film. Hopefully once this is done running the film festival circuit, we’ll be able to get this on dvd or bluray! <\/p>\n
