{"id":2319,"date":"2017-02-25T15:59:25","date_gmt":"2017-02-25T21:59:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/intheaudience.net\/?p=2319"},"modified":"2017-05-18T17:44:39","modified_gmt":"2017-05-18T22:44:39","slug":"edge-of-tomorrow-2014-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/intheaudience.net\/?p=2319","title":{"rendered":"Edge of Tomorrow (2014) &#8211; Film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>&#8220;Edge of Tomorrow&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information follow <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1631867\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\">this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Charming spokesperson, Major William Cage, though not a &#8220;real&#8221; soldier, according to him, is sent to the front line in the war against an invading alien race on a suicide mission. \u00a0Once there he is swiftly killed in battle by an unusual looking alien. \u00a0However, he awakens to find that he is repeating the same day&#8230; over and over. \u00a0He meets Vrataski, who seems to understand what happened to him and helps him train to hopefully defeat the alien invasion.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So, yeah, this is an entertaining mainstream sci fi\/action interpretation of the Manga series &#8220;All You Need is Kill&#8221; by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. \u00a0Tom Cruise, as Cage, gives the audience a very nice introduction as a used-car-salesman-type character, someone who is charming and a little slimy, but knows where his value is, where it is not, and is happy with that. \u00a0Nice to see the details in his physical appearance and body language as his character develops through his experiences &#8220;looping.&#8221; \u00a0Emily Blunt, as Vrataski, is a strong, solid, no nonsense character, through most of the film, unfortunately the story comes around to her being Cage&#8217;s romantic interest and a reward for winning, rather than a true partner. \u00a0Bill Paxton is always worth watching.<\/p>\n<p>The nice thing about mainstream films is they pretty much deliver what the mainstream audience wants. \u00a0The problem is that they are rarely exceptional because they rarely push boundaries. \u00a0This is no exception. \u00a0Though I did enjoy this to curl up and disengage my brain for a couple hours, and I did enjoy the Computer effects, and, yes, the violence, I was disappointed that it needed a Hollywood happy ending.<\/p>\n<p>I gave this 3 1\/2 cups of hot tea. \u00a0It is successful in engaging and entertaining the audience.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intheaudience.net\/\/clipart\/tea.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"41\" height=\"75\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intheaudience.net\/\/clipart\/tea.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"41\" height=\"75\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intheaudience.net\/\/clipart\/tea.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"41\" height=\"75\" \/>1\/2<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-bottom:20px; padding-top:10px;\" class=\"hupso-share-buttons\"><!-- Hupso Share Buttons - https:\/\/www.hupso.com\/share\/ --><a class=\"hupso_toolbar\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hupso.com\/share\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/static.hupso.com\/share\/buttons\/share-medium.png\" style=\"border:0px; padding-top: 5px; float:left;\" alt=\"Share Button\"\/><\/a><script type=\"text\/javascript\">var hupso_services_t=new Array(\"Twitter\",\"Facebook\",\"Google Plus\",\"StumbleUpon\",\"Email\");var hupso_background_t=\"#EAF4FF\";var hupso_border_t=\"#66CCFF\";var hupso_toolbar_size_t=\"medium\";var hupso_image_folder_url = \"\";var hupso_twitter_via=\"mojodawn\";var hupso_url_t=\"\";var hupso_title_t=\"Edge%20of%20Tomorrow%20%282014%29%20-%20Film\";<\/script><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/static.hupso.com\/share\/js\/share_toolbar.js\"><\/script><!-- Hupso Share Buttons --><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Edge of Tomorrow&#8221; For more information follow this link.
