{"id":1196,"date":"2014-05-04T21:24:27","date_gmt":"2014-05-05T02:24:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/intheaudience.net\/?p=1196"},"modified":"2014-05-04T21:24:27","modified_gmt":"2014-05-05T02:24:27","slug":"canswer-2014-film","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/intheaudience.net\/?p=1196","title":{"rendered":"CANSWER (2014) &#8211; Film"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>&#8220;CANSWER&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information check out the <a title=\"Arcilesi Films\" href=\"http:\/\/www.arcilesifilms.com\/canswer.html\" target=\"_blank\">Arcilesi Films<\/a> website.<\/p>\n<p>Trapped on the rooftop of her body repair shop during a global pandemic and ready to give up, Ellen hears a cry for help.\u00a0 At first the rooftop seems like rescue for Cillian.\u00a0 With no food, water or fire and no hope of rescue, he and Ellen find themselves fighting dehydration and starvation and each other, even as they cling to each other for salvation.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This Canadian indie film takes a highly original twist on the zombie genre.\u00a0 In a character and dialogue driven film like this, the actors really needed to convey as well as evoke emotion from the viewer.\u00a0\u00a0 Fortunately, Robert Nolan, as Cillian (tragic lead scientist), and Sarah Cunningham, as Ellen (enigmatic lady mechanic), were up to that challenge.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I particularly enjoyed how the film makers handled Cillian&#8217;s story and how guilt, stress, injury, and illness affected him.\u00a0 I was not at all expecting Ellen&#8217;s story to be the twist it was and that rather made me happy.<\/p>\n<p>The cinematography was absolutely beautiful, especially during Ellen&#8217;s story.\u00a0\u00a0 Good on the film makers for use of make-up and practical effects for the zombie scenes. \u00a0 The story itself followed logically (for what it was) and was engaging.\u00a0 The dialogue was natural and made sense for the characters.
