Mine surveyors are hired to assess an abandoned silver mine in Silver City to determine if it is worth reopening. Some of them rent a nearby cabin for the duration of the project. In the process of exploring the mine, the surveyors release something that had been trapped inside for 100 years which are free to hunt using the tunnels and caverns running underground, including under their cabin. Sam, who was adopted when she was 5-years-old, has inherited a house from a family she has never known. She and 3 friends decide to take a vacation and check out the house, giving Sam a chanced to try to figure out what happened to her biological parents and why she was put up for adoption.
